A COVID-19 Update from Copperleaf Senior Living
Our top priority is the health and safety of your loved one and of every team member who is caring for them. Thank you for helping us provide an environment where this is possible for all.
As communicated in March, since the first reports of COVID-19 our focus has been preventing its arrival in Copperleaf homes and ensuring we’re prepared in the event of a confirmed case. Our focus remains on prevention and we continue to act with an abundance of caution.
We’ve reinforced with all staff our contagious illnesses policies and procedures. Additionally, we’re following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and staying connected to local emergency response teams should their support be needed.
We know this time apart is hard. We miss seeing you and look forward to the day we can be together, again.
Three Frequently Asked Questions COVID-19
1) What happens when there is a positive diagnosis at a Copperleaf facility?
In the case of a confirmed diagnosis, we’ll continue to act in full compliance with the CDC and DHS, local and state health authorities, as well as in the best interest of the person. The resident's designated emergency contacts will be notified. Additional measures of our emergency preparedness plan will be implemented. The resident will be isolated in their room with dedicated staff assigned. The County Emergency Management Department will be contacted for additional personal protective equipment and support.
2) Are Copperleaf facilities open for visitors?
Not at this time. When national, state and county guidelines allow we will start to introduce visiting in a designated isolation area or room at each facility.
3) What precautions are you taking to decrease the chances of the virus entering your communities?
To reduce the risk of exposure in our communities, we are currently restricting visitors, except for end of life situations or pursuant to the guidance of public health officials. We are also conducting health screenings on anyone entering the facility. We have suspended outings and group visits.
